Passage to the very famous Parc Astérix in Picardy

Parc Astérix is one of the best places to visit in Picardy and it’s something really special. It includes a theme park, three hotels, and opened on April 30, 1989. Since 2002, it has been managed by Compagnie des Alpes, a subsidiary of Caisse des Dépôts. The theme park is dedicated to the world of the Asterix comic book created by Uderzo and Goscinny, making it an ideal outing for families and comic book lovers.

Located about thirty kilometers from Paris, near Plailly in the Oise, Parc Astérix is now one of the largest French theme parks, third behind Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios in recent years and has even been awarded the prestigious Thea Award awarded each year by the Themed Entertainment Association.

  • “The Arizona desert”, where large sand dunes await you,
  • “The Colorado Canyon” for the pleasures of the Wild West,
  • “The Mississippi Valley” for a charming and exotic environment.

These enchanting places offer a lot of fun for families, thanks to their wide range of attractions such as five playgrounds, monkey bridges and pony rides. Most impressive are the two live equestrian shows that make this historic theme park a unique place, open since 1963! Owned by the Jean Richard Attractive Centres, La Mer de sable offers unforgettable days, perfect for young children.
